Interaction Progress

Due to the limited internet connectivity, I was not able to do my interactions for Second Life at 100% however I managed to complete a few examples of how my interaction would be for the Virtual Mosque. Everything was done using Mr Avijit's avatar as my original avatar wasn't able to build anywhere (warned by the owner of the land that I used to use) and somehow the system still haven't approve the original avatar to construct at MMU's land.

Here are the list of my interactions:

Click on objects to get info:

- Minaret (Waiting to construct once FCM land is cleared)

Gesture
- Type /salam to activate "Assalamualaikum" (Complete)
- Type /salam2 to acivate "Mualaikumusalam" (Complete)
- Wudhuk Tutorial/Praying Gesture (Pending - unable to find solution)
- "Bersujud" (Knelling) position (Complete)

Walk/Run/Fly (Complete - Preset)
Toggle Time Setting (Complete - Preset)

Sound - Azan (Small solvable issue but complete)

The interaction above is about clicking on objects (For this examples is the Rihal & Mimbar). Intractable objects will show a green name on it and a small finger symbol would appear if the user mouse over them. Clicking on these objects will trigger a simple narration as well as a pop out (Keepable) notecard that tells the user about the object.

Presentation Crisis

Decided to complete my model early so I can focus on other details and avatar designing however it turns out to be a major crisis.

Apparently the owner of the land that I was building on had decided to "reset" the land every 120minutes (2hours). Fortunately my model is completed and saved in my avatar's inventory (thank god!). Presentation is at 9.30am, need to replace all my models accordingly 2hours before the presentation. Darn.... that's what i call wrong crisis at the wrong time...

Well here are a bunch of images showing my progress (the making of) in Second Life, well its not much but I rather call it the 1st phase of the virtual mosque construction

Major Update

Well, its been a while since I last updated this blog. Here's a summary of what happened during the past couple of months ago :

- FYP tittle changed from
Reconstruction of Masjid Kampung Laut > Virtual Putrajaya Mosque > Virtual Mosque Experience

- Decided to use the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem as my main reference for the virtual mosque, though not 100% a carbon copy but must at least have certain similarities.

- Project approved, did modeling in 3D Max and submitted it for FYP 1

- Thank god I passed and manage to continue my final battle in FYP 2

- Started REMODELLING in Second Life (Thanks to Mr Avijit for recommending me a good temporary land for the construction to be build on)

- Consultation, consultation, consultation.... wrote an official letter to the dean of FCM for Second Life Land sponsership.
